Lunch Club

unstoppablelunchclub Unstoppable Leaders targets year 6 pupils who will learn a range of games that they can then lead for younger classes to play at break and lunch times.

The Unstoppable lunch time leader’s programme has been particularly successful as it brings structure to lunchtimes. This means reducing behaviour issues and the children getting more physical activity in to their day.

The Unstoppable lunch time leader’s programme has been particularly successful as it brings structure to lunchtimes. This means reducing behaviour issues and the children getting more physical activity in to their day.

The Lunchtime Leaders has been a huge success in our schools, with not only the children enjoying learning the new games, but staff also.

The programme develops and progresses some very important skills that all leaders will gain.

So What Skills Do Your Pupils Gain?

Communication Skills

Each child will develop their ability to communicate, not only to other peers in their year, but staff and younger children within the school. The programme will help all children learn and develop ways in which it is necessary to communicate within the different situations throughout PE and Sports.

Leadership Skills

A huge part of this programme is to improve a child’s leadership skills in an around the school, but more importantly in a child’s general day to day life. Our young leaders learn the difference between  being a leader and a child that is of a domineering nature. Any child that takes part in this programme will be shown the importance of having leaders throughout PE and sport.

Personal and Social

Personal and Social development is one of the recognised building blocks of success. this life skills supports a child’s development by helping them to interact effectively and develop positive attitudes towards themselves and other children. Nevertheless, this does not happen if a child does not understand the importance of being a good leader and a role model. They must first learn the appropriate behaviours, that will help them become and Unstoppable Leader. This part of the programme will give children the chance to develop self confidence and self awareness in and around other children within the school.

Organisation

Organisation is a key area that each child will have chance to develop. The children will be given the responsibility to organise certain parts of the lessons from an early stage of the programme. Once they have progressed and evidently proven to have the ability to organise, then they will slowly be integrated to organise the whole of the lunchtime session. Each child will gather an understanding the importance of the skill when it comes to preparing for the younger children within the school.

Team Work

One of the programmes main aims is to encourage and engage a group of young, enthusiastic and trustworthy learners, to work together to create a better playtime environment for the younger children of the school. By getting the children working together has obvious and outstanding effects on their behaviour as a team member, not just as an individual. The Lunchtime leaders will never be alone and will be encouraged that the best way to work, is as a team of leaders rather than just one.
